Ride de Vine

Norlina, NC

Join us for this great early season ride at a unique and stunning location.

The Ride de Vine is a fully-supported, noncompetitive ride, not a race, on the rolling hills of the winding country roads around and through historic Warrenton North Carolina.  There is something for every ability along the safe and scenic 10-mile, 25-mile or 55-mile routes to choose from.  The event features a socially-distanced, time-trial style start; chip timing with results and start/finish photos; SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles that patrol the clearly marked routes; and well stocked rest areas.

Start/Finish at the Seven Springs Farm and Vineyard, LLC.  A vineyard souvenir (while supplies last) and an event t-shirt are included with registration. Don’t ride? Tour the vineyard by strolling among the vines, sample the local wines, jams and sauces and food truck fare, enjoy a dance party by the pond or simply sit back, relax and soak in the beautiful surroundings.

Proceeds support the Jack & Jill of America Foundation helping children and families.

For Everyone's Health and Safety

It takes the compassion, care and personal responsibility of everyone to help assure a safe experience.

  • Face coverings will be required in all indoor spaces. Face coverings should follow CDC guidelines, with two or more layers of fabric that completely cover your nose and mouth and they should not have vents, valves or holes
  • All riders are required to wear a helmet (they reduce the risk of head injuries by 85%)
  • The courses use rural and semi-rural roads typical for this region of North Carolina and most pavement is pristine, however there are short sections that are slightly bumpy and the shoulders in some sections can be narrow so share the road, stay right and ride single file (you may ride up to two-abreast when traffic allows)
  • The routes and timing of the event are chosen to minimize cyclist interaction with regular traffic however you will encounter motor vehicles during the ride. All North Carolina traffic laws as they apply to bicycles must be obeyed.
  • Minimum age for participating cyclists is 12.  Riders age 16 and under must ride with a parent.
  • No coolers or outside alcoholic beverages are allowed on Seven Springs Farm and Vineyard, LLC

Friday Evening Social

Join us at the vineyard on Friday evening between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM for music and mingling.  Pick up your ride packet containing your event souvenirs and cyclist number, get dinner at the food truck, and sample some wine.

If you plan to arrive before the event, consider staying at a hotel in nearby Henderson, NC - only 20 minutes away.  You can also enjoy one of the many campground areas at Kerr Lake or contact the Seven Springs Farm and Vineyard, LLC to inquire about boondocking with your personal RV on site.

Event Parking:
(free parking - follow signs and attendant directions)

To encourage participation in post-ride festivities and to separate cycle traffic from motor vehicle traffic, we request that riders park in a designated grass parking lot near the registration desk, food trucks, dance floor/stage, restrooms and other attractions. The start/finish for the cycling routes is at the Vineyard exit onto Axtell Ridgeway road about 1/4-mile from the parking lot along a crushed gravel driveway that winds through the farm around the grape vines.

Participant Check-in/packet pickup

Cyclists who don't come to the Friday evening social can pick up their packet on Saturday morning any time between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM.  The packets will contain event souvenirs and cyclist numbers.

Precision Race will be providing timing and results as well as both start/finish line crossing photos for all cyclists which will be found as they become available at the event website - http://www.precisionrace.com/ride-de-vine. To facilitate this, every cyclist will receive their participant number in three forms in their registration packet.

  • The first is a numbered bib to be pinned to the back of the cyclist's jersey so it is visible from behind.
  • The second is an adhesive-backed numbered sticker to be placed on the front of the helmet so it is visible from the front.
  • The third is an adhesive backed t-shaped timing chip to be placed on the top of the helmet as shown. The chip should be positioned at the crown of the helmet (lined up with your ears) with the "tail" toward the back.  The chip's adhesive tabs are placed down into the helmet vents.

Ride Start Times

To minimize gathering size at the start and maintain a COVID safe environment, we will use a single-file start similar-to a time trial.

Cyclists may start any time during the window for your route distance by lining up single file (maintaining proper social distances) along the designated driveway.

  • 55-mile loop: start any time beginning at 9:00 AM
  • 25-mile loop: start any time beginning at 9:45 AM
  • 10-mile loop: start any time beginning at 10:15 AM
If you decide that you will ride a distance different than the one you registered for, let us know at packet pickup before you line up.
